Agreed. My holding period with P&G, & ABB, which I have bought within the past few months will be decades. With the divys reinvested -quite sure my heirs will be happy.
Recently I have been reading about bad performance from a number of large companies such as PG. If their management is concerned about the near future they'll start laying off in droves and we'll end up in a mess worst than 08'.
If they do the proper thing and advise that we're going through a rough patch for a year or so we'll do fine.
Sadly, everyone wants immediate results so this could get ugly.
