Moskie & Metter steal from all as we well know.
Moskie rolls over (heck sounds like he rolled out to greet the investigators and make their life easy), on his partner and buddy....in exchange for a legal pass. So he's off.
He has to go and illegally - but under the auspices and direction of the cops - record himself while talking to his (ex)partner...and what he tells the partner is basically - "we did no wrong - I can prove the sales weren't faked...believe me...", which would only go to prove Metter didn't have any reason to think anything was wrong.
So he either walks because the prosecution had Moskie do things that can't be used as evidence and may well spoil any case as only showing they had terribly bad faith....but that even if one did allow it...all it does is prove Metter was lied to by Moskie (and Moskie has a pass), so Metter gets a pass too.
They go skipping down the strip together hand in hand....spending for the wildest kosher hookers Daves money can buy.....heck...put a few more on the stack for my pal.
