my take is put much better in the article. What disgusted me was attacking the President on the day of or after while people were dying. Couldn't the left have used that energy more productively? It's clear that something broke down on all levels, but let's save these people before turning it into politics. To me, though, the situation reveals deeper questions: Why are we replaying the 70's regarding gasoline? Why can't we as a nation come together despite our differences when a tragedy like this occurs? Related points are discussed in the article better than I can put them.
