Once the deal is announced -- let's say a buyout -- wouldn't the stock freeze at the current price and there wouldn't be anymore trading allowed?

Everyone keeps saying we have a good couple weeks/months/etc. ahead of us, but what if this goes to a penny and the buyout is .005. Wouldn't this just be a bloodbath?

I agree except there will be some flattening out the longer it takes to announce anything
