.001 x 500 = $.50 ..50 cents a share but usually that plummets pretty fast as company dumps more shares into the market. The number of shares changes but the AUTHORIZED shares often stays the same. I have seen a reverse split actually benefit sharehoders but that was a 1 for 13 split. I guess there could be other examples, maybe we can get some other imput.
