LG,

I guess my point was, even if there is a plan, they don't always work.

It's kinda like burying our heads in the sand thinking that nothing bad will happen.

I posted on another board today that I live in the 10 mile radius of a nuclear power plant and every year we get this nice little evacuation booklet.

It is a complete joke! If the plant ever goes, I would be better off staying in my house and glow in the dark.

I don't know the answer but sadly, I don't think anyone does.

+++What I can't understand is why it is taking so long to at least make some air drops and truck some supplies in for these folks bunched together on the raise thruways, Superdome, etc....

Roadways are underwater, and damaged....dry spots are inhabited with snipers....

+++No predetermined in advance gathering places for medical aid and assistance for those that did not or could not get out prior to the hurricane in the event of a flood event.

Wasn't that the purpose of setting up the Superdome as a major shelter?

Katrina dumped a massive amount of rain, Lake P flooded and pooom...disaster. This hurricane was only a Cat 2 on Friday evening...the city had 48 hours to prepare, no one knew it had the potential to cause this much devastation until it was too late...NO had no time, I think the officials did the best they could given the timing of the hurricane's ferciousness....
