Not everybody
in the world has a computer to go compare the features and benefits of all competitive companies. Have you ever heard of impulse buying? a commercial comes on tv and a person needs the product, they write the number down and call immediately. It happens everyday, all day long. If it didn't, you wouldnt see networks like qvc and home shopping network. If they do the research they will find our very low industry fees. Unfortunately for many people, a product like this is their only option. I have a friend who owns a lumber company and employs about 50 people. Many of them are minorities with limited banking options. In the past they took their paychecks down the street to a cash advance store who converted their check for them for outrageous fees. They have since moved to prepaid cards in which the payroll is loaded directly onto the card at no charge. Its a much better option for everyone involved and I can guarantee their are millions of small businesses that will be coverting to this type of payroll.
