I know this is off-topic but consuming supplements to lose weight is not going to work on its own. The supplements can definitely serve as a one or 2 meal replacements a day, especially if you're a traditional weight trainer/bodybuilder who eats up to 7 small meals a day to optimize your metabolism and nutrition intake. They also work well for those wanting to lose some weight because a protein shake has far less calories than a typical meal although it, in no way, is ever meant to be a replacement for all meals.

Most popular diets nowadays that work very well are all almost identical in nature....no soda, minimal simple carbs, alcohol in moderation, and very high in protein, complex carbs and healthy fats.

Bodybuilders have a saying that 90% of bodybuilding is what you eat.

if you are looking for a very effective but very healthy weight loss plan that implements supplements such as protein shakes, Body for Life I really like because they keep it stupid simple - it's a great primer for those who are just starting weight training and switching to a healthier way of eating. I give that book 100% credit for helping me stay the same healthy weight for the past 12 years. The 40-40-30 Formula book (all bodybuilders pretty much follow the same formula) is more complex because it explains the role of protein, carbs and fats in greater depth. I find they make it a unnecessariy complicated when it comes to planning out your meals which is why I prefer the Body for Life's approach - they really do keep it brain dead simple and easy to follow, once you've nailed down 2 or 3 basic rules, eating well and staying at a healthy weight becomes so easy to do. HOWEVER, the Formula has a highly effective 21 day weight loss kick start plan (speaking from experience).

Ok, back to regular programming - go MSLP!
