mlsoft, you got to be careful with these allegories. If you decided to "take out" the unarmed bully on the block without the appropriate "due process" you'll have the "authorities" on your back. The downside with taking out Sadam unilaterally is in the precedence ii creates, it lowers the bar for future conflicts, maybe to an unacceptable low level, and in the future, you may find China doing a preemptive strike against Taiwan because "Taiwan is becoming so technologically advanced" that is is a threat the China national security. Iran could take a preventive strike against Israel because the Israeli might take out the Hitzbulla that keep bombarding the Israeli North and so on. Without an over threat to our national security, such a preemptive strike will be tough to justify, and ten years hence, and if such a strike is carried out now, nothing will prevent other "would be" International Law and Order" cops from taking actions that are not acceptable to us, under the same guise we are going t act against Iraq.

mlsoft..really, you seem to always think liberals have no common sense and are wrong, period...hmm....and you ve previosly said you wound not get political..hmm....i like you and your trading style, we agree....but you know, some of us who are not "conservative" (in your eye) take offense to your assuming liberals are idiots, can't think are and are the root of all problems. (no you havent said that in those words but thats what comes across)
Imho the Korean problem is much more serious than saddam at THE CURRENT, and while i AGREE the 2 need to be dealt with diferently, to say saddam should be dealt with first, well i disagree, they are both horrible situations. I praise Bush for taking a stand against saddam, really and hes done so clearly. I'm not crazy about the way hes done it though, yet i want him to succeed, for that would be for the good of us all. I think im more libertarian in my views than anything else, and TRULY conservativer in others, something i feel conservatives have "stolen" or hijacked
And if zeev reads this, please dont admonish me zeev, as i did not start THIS political debate, im adding to it, and feel mlsoft's political bias needs a rebuke.
You harp on Common sense mlsoft...is that what you call conservatives stopping/delaying science.....yes as the catholics did long ago, and im catholic. The conservative right wing "religious" bend of this administration.....doesnt seem like common sense to me and millions of other folks ..but i guess we are just stupid mlsoft.
