That I would definately complain about! What social studies curriculum? I got the impression your child was about the same age as one of mine. There's core curriculum content standards, so much of it is standardized. I've seen lots of social studies curriculum regarding NJ and US history, but I'm more focused on math and language arts. I'd say "harem" crosses the line!...

Our district is very small. Fortunately, I haven't seen a lot of "weird stuff" in curriculum. It wouldn't be tolerated, but I know there's "weird stuff" in some public school curriculum. The demographics here would never support teaching that type of "diversity". :)

It's important to be mindful of the fact that schools answer to parents, and public schools are "the State". Look at the perverse crap taught in Islamic Republics. Public sector curriculum can not be permitted to cross the line.
