But all those molecles of air inside tire would would make big "pop" at 200K ft up if tire was breached. Tire blowouts at 30psi vs 15 psi normal at 140-150 degrees do a lot of damage.

Also Metal rim would transfer heat much more effectively then tire itself leading to rupture of tire at that seal ????

I think an explosion in the tire would cause the shuttle to break apart 'all of a sudden'. I don't think the evidence is pointing in that direction at all. I think the thing was coming apart the moment it hit CA and the problem only got worse until the whole thing disintegrated over TX.
