It's still important to their business model IMHO.
Without their own crawler, their affiliates are going to have to rely on outside companies for certain SEM needs. That's $$$ going out the door for a service our company is supposed to be an expert in. Even if it takes much longer than it should have, it would be a shame to let that opportunity walk out the door, especially since it could be a deciding factor in whether affiliates sign up or not.
