If it was sabotage it was done by the USA and don`t doubt that they wouldn`t do it to draw sympathy from the world countries to get them to join the coalition.. Also, with an Israeli on board I`m sure they have photos of people in IRAQ dancing in the streets.. which when shown all over the world it would be easier to get support for our cause. I never doubt the conspiracy theory

Zeev..when i first heard the words that the data stream stopped cold..(and as you say long before catastrophic damage) that was my first reaction and still is! and there were multiple data streams that stopped...
THE EVIDENCE DOES NOT ADD UP CONCLUSIVELY to what everyone is saying..maybe it will, but it doesnt yet...AND I PRAY they are not going with this "easy solution" rather than fully considering what might and its a big might, be something far worse and hideous.

The thermocouples are on the inside of the skin and could be a long way away from the aggravated heating site.

The thermal diffusivity can provide some guidance as to the time for the thermal energy to penetrate to the point on the structure where the thermocouples are located.
