Take it from a person who has the balls to openly criticize a stock he holds a position in with no intent other than to address the issues at hand. Very rare in this arena. TG did it the other day and I commended him for it.

One would not want other people making statements that their wife/gf/mom was a prostitute if she wasn't or making unsubstantiated statements about his/her character. A company has the same right to defend itself against the same type of injurious acts
Wrong. The CEO is a public figure and therefore places himself and his company at a greater risk of negative statements. The threshold is far greater for a private citizen who does not agree actively or tacitly put themselves under public scrutiny.
