So what your saying is the little tag line and logo with "legs" is not a public announcement because there's not a news or press release?
I don't qualify it as a public announcement, no. Perhaps it's intended to generate some interest and excitement ahead of an actual announcement, but the company hasn't given it any sort of publicity so most folks (i.e. the public at large) likely know nothing about it.
Personally, I think that site might possible be used as a landing page of sorts. It will probably end up being nothing more than an ad that pitches what Spyder can do for companies. Might even link to http://spyder.atrinsic.com for existing subscribers.
Further, is that logo and the Atrinsic name considered trademark or intellectual property? If so and the site isn't associated with the company I gather there's a potential for infringement?
I did a trademark search a few weeks ago and wasn't able to find anything. I'm not saying the site isn't associate it Atrinsic. A WHOIS lookup shows Atrinsic has registered the domain.
Further, if I put a University of whatever banner in my front yard, is that not announcing to the public I have some position on the university? Nothing personal here, just trying to understand your thought process here.
No worries, I'm not taking offense. But, honestly, I don't really understand what you mean with this.
