The most negative interpretation over the handling of KBLB would be that KBLB is a fraud or just another penny stock used to enrich a select few insiders. The next slightly more positive interpretation is that Kim simply is overwhelmed, and has no idea how to effectively run a business.... since he is a lawyer and has no formal training in running one. and then the paranoia and overprotective nature he has might inhibit even good strategy.

and I find it unbelievable that the advisory board would condone it.

List all of the bad things, either in a post or in your head, and ask yourself "would the advisory board condone this"?

For me, there is no way in hell Henry Wendt would condone using THE michael andrew mccarthy for obtaining working capital. Using an empty seat as kblb IR and the continued carrot leading the donkey PR's. The reason we have eloquent posts by zincfinger "explaining" all of the huge passages of time well past when something should have occurred, is because there is no reason given by Kim. Kim sure as hell isn't going to highlight his original "by jan 31, 2012" commercialization target, and sure as hell isn't going to (but should) explain the lack of commercialization. and sure as flip aint going to explain why he has decided to buy a sports apparel company.....and likely wont explain what happened/did not happen with the june CC carrots that nothing ever became of.

the only reason IMHO that it "doesn't make sense" to you is that you refuse to face the realities of the situation:

Kim cannot release news until it has been adequately confirmed, whether lab results confirmed by definitive tests, deals confirmed by the signing of the contract or whatever.

Once you acknowledge that reality you will, IMHO see that your "concerns" (about Kim withholding news) are utterly groundless.

Kim is not "withholding" news. He is required by SEC regulations to release material events as and when they occur (with certain specific exemptions (deals under negotiation, etc).

He cannot and SHOULD NOT release news before it has been sufficiently confirmed.

You can MAKE PREPARATIONS (scheduling CCs etc) based on preliminary results but you do NOT release news until the final results are in.

In September 2010 KBLB almost certainly expected pure spider silk but the result turned out to be "only" Monster Silk. Imagine what would have happened had KBLB prematurely announced "we have produced pure spider silk!" only to have to retract and say, "well, actually, it's only a blend..." KBLB would be history.

Insisting on unrealistic expectations assures disappointment

Cat the whole reason you dont get it is because news isnt news till it happens.
I dont know how old you are but if every time you made love to your wife/girlfriend you sent out cards to everyone saying
"ITS A BOY"
What would your friends and family think?
Just like you Kim should not release any news till it is actually time. Even if the chance of news is possible he should say nothing till it is reality.
He already informed us that the delay in the CC was because they delayed insertions. So look at it like this.
Kim put out news of the CC before it was actually time for that news.
Look what happened.
Look how you feel.

You really think he should do it again?
You need to learn from Kims mistake

EDIT:
For the record you are 100% correct. News put out is exactly what we need. It is Kims fault he is not "on time" with the news.

Something that crossed my mind after writing this...
Do you think it is possible that Kim had it timed perfectly?
Dec 12 CC announcement
Jan 1 radio interview.
jan 6 PNAS artical.
Jan 9th PR new strains and gen 2
Jan 14 CC

Kim screwed the pooch by announcing the CC and trying to time everything and unfortunatly the insertions needed a change.
