It does not matter who is buying the company. Sellers are normally looking for whoever meet their terms.

I already offered a plausible reason: to easily go public and cash out.
Creating a shell is expensive and time-consuming. Maybe the principals of the target want a quick influx of cash. Go public via MIKP, get a bunch of shares, and then flip them to market.
