well, I guess I am always in the position of being a defendent, but a sorry one.
I dont see religious hatred in the US as a big problem. There is a great difference between firmly held views and acting to hurt others. I see hatred and the acts resulting from them everywhere but the US.
In canada we have the stabbing of a orthodx jew at a pizza parlor and a prime minister not allowed to give a speech by violent protestors
In london we have the stabbing of an orthodox jew on a bus
In France we have multiple attacks on synagogues and people and the same in Amsterdam
In Yemen we see the shooting of Hospital administrators and Physicians
In Lebanon we see the shooting of a nurse
In Saudi Arabia we see or hear of schoolchildren dying in a fire becasue they were not dressed for the street
In Argentina we have the bombing and death of hundreds in 1993? at a social center
In Africa we see rioting and county by country masscrees and killing
Our embassies have been attacked around the world
In the United States we have a Sikh attacked immediatly after 9/11
I do not see US newspapers calling for the deaths of the infidels
I do see a lot of people against war, despite the war drums and the banter.
I just think the hatred is around us and at the UN.
What if the US acted like other countries? We are always trying to explain away or mollify the violent beliefs of others
Its a matter of the cup half empty and half filled
