Recall that it was a CONSENSUS that rejected the Solar System
findings of Galileo in the 17th Century
no it wasn't, it was the CHURCH that rejected it. The rest of the science community accepted the findings and moved on to build on it. Which people such as Tycho Brahe did. And which the church would not accept for over 300 years.
And there are always "scientists" coming up with crackpot hypotheses to try to debunk the state of knowledge in most all areas. Which, when shot down, help bolster the findings of the legitimate scientists.
But in the modern internet world, those crackpot theories get put out there as "information" before they are even peer reviewed or tested for replicability.
You claim to be a scientist... yet you fail to understand the basic concepts of "theory" such as the Gas Theory which are empirical. You confuse scientific theory with literary theory. The theory of relativity, for example, has been found to be correct for things such as predicting energy release in a nuclear reaction, so would be empirical in that sense, but is always being tweaked as new information becomes available.
So do you believe that the earth is still the center of the universe then? Not sure what you were attempting to scold me about.
