I'm waiting for them to open so I can call them and ask if this is a problem they've encountered before and if they can steer me in the general direction of the connector. I met the parts and service guys and the latter didn't roll their eyes when I asked them if a former Honda mechanic would find this bike particularly difficult to self-service. They said it'd be a comparative joy because like all BMW vehicles, it's built to be easy to maintain.
Without a proper manual, though, I'm not keen on the idea of tearing into the bike trying to find the connector, but will at least have a quick look before calling the dealership when they open in 20 minutes.
