Gheit points out that Chevron could settle for 10%+- of the $27Billion claim to the Ecuadorian Government or $2-$3Bilion. Chevron could easily do this as they have $14B in cash and $20B in Receivables as of Dec. 2010. This would surely improve relations with Ecuador and pave the way for future deals. Also, getting in touch with Chevron might be a smart move for MOP as well. Quien Sabe?
