WMD claim was the excuse. OIL was the reason.

"no WMD's and Iraq didn't have the capability to build WMD's it was adios."

We created the security threat by increasing instability dead set in the mideast. Our bombings destroyed the place, and we had/bave an obligation to rebuild. Remember Powell's "Pottery Barn rule," you break it, you own it? That's what happened in Iraq. We now "own" the reconstruction.

Well I never supported this crusade from the beginning. However the only reason I say give the Iraqi's till the first of the year to get their constitution signed is for shrub to save face. I have no problem leaving today but we need to have a reason to leave. American's hate failure in their name even though this will be another failure.

so, if I can pursue your logic >>>once we determined that there were no WMD's and Iraq didn't have the capability to build WMD's it was adios<<<

would mean that

1 - the mad mullahs fury against the West, particularly the USA, would have dissipated and the WoT would have been over with only cleanup to be carried out in Afghanistan

2 - the suicide bombers coming into Iraq would be happily tending their sheep in SA, Syria, Yemen etc.

or, maybe

3 - we abandon all interests in the ME and withdraw all forces from Arab lands

So just where would we draw the line ???
