From what I understand, the heat exchanger design has been changed many times to improve the absorption of energy in the water. Also, there has been some discussion about recycling the heat energy back into the water to increase efficiency. There are ways to improve efficiency of the microwaves but it is yet to be proven it is enough to make the MCMHU more efficient than current electric tankless water heaters.
There are only a few people who know the efficiency of the latest design..and they're not talking..yet!!!
