and to add to this discussion,

If I had sold the $2.50 call option for $0.20 and the share price ended up at $2.60 on exercise date, then I will be forced to sell my shares for $2.50 to the option owner. I will therefore have effectively sold my shares for a price of $2.50 + 0.20 = $2.70.
