gabeh: We DON'T KNOW that a bidding process is being done for sure. We know 'SQUAT' about what the process is. For all we know, Evercore/IDCC could be going to each potential acquirer and saying what is your best offer for our company.
IMO, if this was a true auction or bid-process, IDC could make it clear and move forward.
It seems like IDCC doesn't know what they want and is right now on a fishing expedition, trying to see what's out there in terms of who wants what of IDCC.
I say let them announce the company is up for bid to the highest bidder and a sale will take place one way or the other and see what it brinigs.
THis cloak and dagger stuff is BS; they should either S#!+ or get off the pot! What they might be doing IMO is trying to see what they can get and still secure their futures with positions in the acquiring company or keeping part of the company for themselves in a private deal AFTER the buyout. Maybe that's because they can't get the financing on their own for a private buyout by existing management for the entire enchalada ! ! !
Maybe I'm way off base, but IMO they could have had a deal done by now if there were a buyout of the entire company.
