Your arguments and posts reek of being a social conservative and now I'm glad that you are distancing yourself from them. It's not just Pat Buchanan but also the right wing religious wack jobs as well. People who think creationism or intelligent design are real. Or that man has only been on this planet for a few thousand years. Those people are also socially conservative.
I have never said Republican = Social Conservatism and did not introduce political parties into this discussion until you brought it up. Actually I feel sorry for Senators like Specter, Snow, Hagel, McCain, and Collins as they represent the more moderate positions of the Republican party.
I certainly can state categorically that socially conservative people did not support those programs I mentioned. Why? Because their representatives and organizations opposed those laws or are you telling me now they didn't and you are starting to plead ignorance of history?
So why do you put your support behind Bush so fervently? Do you really think he is doing America proud? In what way? I can't find any so maybe you can enlighten me. Is it the War in Iraq that you like? His tax cuts for the wealthy? His environmental policies? His dropping his pants every time big business says bend over? What do you like?
