Good Blog Post by Chairman Ray: ....Flippers and/or Shorts?:
I hate it. Its driving me crazy. And it tasks my cellphone to the limit because the calls come in by the truckload, asking me why is it that this is happening. (The true answer is, its the shareholders.) I update the website and the stock goes up. I stick out press and the stock goes down. I talk about the mid-east and all anyone wants is US business. I announce that the mid-east actually got us US business and all anyone wants to know is what about the mid-east deal.
Then I explain why everyone has missed what the ML deal actually means and why it leads to EPA & CARB and the shorts come out of the woodwork - essentially erasing what took 4 months to build up in the matter of a week. So, how do I feel about it?: A little more than mugged and just shy of raped. But, I bet you feel that way too. The difference is, you can walk away. Me?: I have to figure out how to execute on the business at hand while looking like an idiot with a decimated equity.
Traders all talk about momentum and make their buy & sell decisions based on its flow. Management has to live with the after effects. Personally, I would have preferred that we were still in the trips verses being the Chairman that executed perfectly just to watch his equity crumble on hype he didn't create and selling that wasn't merited.
