Everybody loves to hate the $25 million/yr man. In fairness to A-Rod, he played great defense and he has a bad thumb. Tough to swing a bat with a bad anything in the hand or wrist area. His better days are behind him though, thats for sure. And he wasn't even close on that pitch ... nor on the previous strike out. Girardi should have pinch hit for him. But, that was a case of the manager afraid of his players, IMO.
Thought we would lose the game when Leyland pulled Scherzer for Benoit. i was screaming at the TV. (how silly; 106 yrs old and screaming at a bleepin' TV. LOL) But, when A-Rod came up and Girardi didn't pinch hit for him, i was sure we would win it.
here's one of the best baseball malaprops ever! 'You can sum up the game of baseball in one word:' "You never know!" lol The collective IQ of a 25 man dugout usually hovers around 75.
