They don't happen that often. Too many people in the market still remember the lessons learned. There's always the next beanie baby craze on the horizon though.
What percentage of people do you think lost money vs. gained in that environment? BTW, if you hadn't noticed, we are in that type of environment now. Penny stocks are booming now.
roaring twenties, the nifty fifty of the sixties, dot com/ dot bomb. Takes about 40 years to forget excesses and for people to say it's different this time with a straight face.
The crash of 29-32 wasn't made up until the fifties, I think the market was breakeven from 66 - 1980. Won't be seeing Nasdaq 5500 for quite a while either.
