They changed the rule to resuming play instead of starting over. Think they changed it in 2008 if I heard the date right.

Selig changed the suspended rules in 2008 regarding playoffs and games affecting playoff scenarios....

Rules are different in the playoffs. Now those who held tickets for tonight's game get to do it all over again tomorrow. Including paying for food and parking. No rain checks for those items.
