Who has seen a live demo...

...of one of GOSY's CareBots here besides Chae and kywoman?

Who has ever seen a live demo of anyone's personal robot (like GOSY's CareBot) doing anything at all?

I have. Many times. The Arctec Gemini, RB Systems' RB5X, Heathkits' Hero, Mobile Robots' Pioneer at a Machine Vision conference, and GeckoSystems' CareBot at a Dragon*Con convention!

If not, how would one know how hard the tech is, how many patents are available and probable, how impressive the benefits are, or how HUGE the market is without having seen at least one live demo?

Colin Angle of iRobot agrees with why Bill Gates, Founder and CEO of Microsoft, says:

Robots are next hot health technology

So unless you have seen at least one live demo, how would one really know if iRobot's Ava has technology even close to GOSY's?

JMO, too-

IRobot's Ava is a phone activated robot. It seems like it's not much more than a mobile webcam:

"Well, why not create a robot buddy in the home that you can call and activate, and it can drive around the home and make sure that she’s not fallen down the stairs," Angle suggested. "Instead of having 10 sensors and a big brotherly surveillance, you put one sensor on a mobile platform, pay for the mobility and navigation, and get the same effect – but on a more on-demand, more social interaction model type of basis..."

It doesn't remind Grandma that it's time to take her meds, tell her stories, or automatically report when she's in trouble.

But what would you expect for a product that's going to cost about twice what their vacuum clearner sells for?
