July fishing for both Coho and Chinook was amazing in July and the first two weeks in August. Best in years. Then mid Aug they gave the commercial gill netters three nights. They took 13,000 Chinook, then rain came, and the remaining salmon seemed to head straight to the river mouth, stacked up by the thousands. Every guide boat and everyone else were all fishing one area, it was a gong show.

Between the crowding and the rain, we came home and have been lazing around, loading up on prawns, and getting my recently retired girlfriend used to her new life on the island with me.

Happy happy. Lots of friends and relatives coming to visit Sept/Oct, then we head to warmer and drier places for the winter, mostly New Zealand and Mexico.
