As I'm sure you now realize, it's a good idea to disable Sleep when you are running a scan. You don't "have" to, but it's not a bad idea. It's strange you couldn't get it to come out of sleep. I usually tap a key, like the space bar, or Enter and mine wakes up. Another way to bring it out of sleep is to just tap the power button. Don't hold it down or it could do a hard shut down. Just press it and give it a one count and let go and I think you'll find it will wake up.
