Cool I have a question. Knowing that market makers are able to short without having to borrow the stock, are they just arbitrarily able to decide which price they want to buy in? And are they able to skim money by never even owning anything? By that I mean if they took money, sold short without borrowing, bought back in at a lower price, took the difference, who would ever know?
