#4916 RE: ombowstring #4907

ombow: I am a scientist at heart. In my field of Cliical Pharmacy I want to recommend what works and has been demonstrated to work. It is called evidence based medicine. I don't make a decision based on 'feelings' or 'hope'. The most striking difference between conservatives and liberals is that conservatives are 'evidence based' and liberals are driven by 'feelings'
I'll give you an example. We've spent Trillions of Dollars on the so called "War on Poverty" since the 1960's. I'm sure Lyndon Johnson and his liberal supporters thought they were doing a good thing. How has it woorked out? Not in individaul cases but for society as a whole? Since the 1960's unwed motherhood has increased 5 fold. The percentage of black kids living without a father present in the home exceeds 70%. This has led to a huge increase in the incarceration rates of young black men. Since the Great Society programs were put in place are there less poor people? No. Have ghettos disappeared or are there more ghetto areas than ever in this country? By any measure there are certainly more. Welfare has destoryed family structure, destroyed individual initiative, bred social pathologies like drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, crime, you anme it. Why does it continue? Because liberals "feel' like it helps despite all evidence to the contrary.
The Tea Party folks are not the loonies. The loonies are the liberal politicians that promote and defend policies that don't work. The loonies are the liberals who think you can grow an economy by punishing success and hard work and subsidizing failure. The loonies are the liberals who think our nation spending Trillions of Dollars on goverment with half that amount being borrowed or printed is in any way sustainable let alone moral vis a vis future generations.
And what good has Barney Frank done? Enlighten me. He was one of the primary individual causes of our last financial collapse in 2008. His earnest defense of freddie and fannie when the Bush Administration tried to investigate them led to the sub prime mortgage fiasco and everything that happened in its aftermeth. We're still suffering the effects of Frank's actions. If I ran the revolution his head would be the third one I'd guillotine off, after Alan Grenspan and Ben Bernake. That such an incompetent (or corrupt) boob could be Congressman for life could only happen in a liberal gulag like Massachussets.
