If a deal doesn't happen and their stock drops back to the lower 40's or worse, I guarantee you people will be saying, I should have sold in the 60's-70's. If history is any indication, your statement of the past is the past is really funny. It seems like this co's future has always been more of the past. Again, people have very short memories. If a deal doesn't happen, the street will once again place an earnings value on the stock and will NOT value the company based on what the value of the patents are imo. If a deal doesn't happen, We'll continue to not know the value of the patents so it would be a moot point anyway.
Dmiller, the past is the past.
IDCC is not sitting at $41 and many current IDCC shareholders did not own IDCC when it was at that price.
There has been a cosmic shift both analytically and conceptually in the methods of assessing Interdigital's value.
Badger. I agree that IDCC is currently not over valued even if there was not a possible sell out, however perchance today IDCC said a sale was called off, I betcha, without reservation, IDCC would be sitting in the 30s in a new york minute. .. nic
IDCC is not currently overvalued, nor is it even close to fair market value based on recent events like Nortel and Motorola/Google.
