The reason I used the bit method is to show the frequency that will be required, but you are correct, I did make a mistake in the math.
It should have been, 1k x 1k x 1k x 8 = 8 giga Hertz. This is because 8 bits can represent 256 combinations of information. Still a lot of information for a single static picture. When you change that to moving picture, the information is increased by the refresh rate. Most people stop seeing a flicker at about 30 times a second. So the 30 * 8 = 240 giga Hertz will be the lowest data rate for a pleasing view. FYI. Live long and prosper.
