sarai, where in the international law are the "settlements" outlawed? The West bank is a disputed territory subject to final peace negotiations with all the Arab countries still at war with Israel (namely, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Only Egypt and Jordan signed peace agreements, and no part of the peace agreement with Jordan (the prior authority in the West Bank) provides for other authority in the West bank but Israel. It may not have been wise to have those settlements, but I am sure that many will argue if long term that was or not wise. It surely is not a violation of international law.

no sarai, the non owned land of the ottoman empire , government owned land was ceded to the british and then to Jordan and then to Israel. Israel and jordan have a peace treaty signed. there is in fact no violation of international law. When I have been in the west bank before the settlements, most of it truly was vacant. endless vistas like the badlands of south dakata
