If it wasn't for that Tea Party... there would be no talk of Reducing the Debt... Is that what you want for the Country to be $30 Trillion in debt and no plan to cut it????

Read this-- Lack of Leadership--- President Obama said Monday he hopes Standard & Poor's downgrade of the country's credit rating will give lawmakers a "renewed sense of urgency" on dealing with the nation's deficit problems.

So, you should be Happy S&P downgraded us; if they had not there will no Urgency!!! Is that what he is saying?

In his first public remarks since Friday's downgrade, Obama blamed political gridlock for the nation's setback and insisted the markets still consider the United States a "triple-A country."

S&P's move, Obama said, was "not so much because they doubt our ability to pay our debt … but because after witnessing a month of wrangling over raising the debt ceiling, they doubted our political system's ability to act."

Who doesn't doubt the Politicians... Washington has an 18% approval rating

"We didn't need a ratings agency to tell us that we need a balanced, long-term approach to deficit reduction," he added. "That was true last week. That was true last year. That was true the day I took office."

So, why are you spending and Spending if it wasn;t for the TEA PARTY there would be no talk of Reducing the Debt!!!

Obama insisted the nation's economic woes are "eminently solvable, and we know what we have to do to solve them."

So, why Nothing has been done the past 30 months, we are in a deeper hole than when he took office. How, can he claim they know what they are doing?

Still, amid major turmoil on the stock market, Obama stopped short of calling for Congress to come back to Washington from vacation and work on a deficit deal. Instead, he shifted focus to a planned "super committee" in Congress that is set to report its findings by November on how to cut an estimated $1.5 trillion in spending over the next 10 years.

In those 10 Years we will cut $1.5 Trillion, however we will need $14-21 Trillion to Pay our Bills during 10 Years.. Do the math.

The president said he would lay out his own proposals for spending cuts "shortly" but insisted two steps are crucial: tax reform, including raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans, and "modest adjustments" to entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security.

Okay Sacrifices need to be made. Why not Start with the Government and Politicans

"It's not a lack of plans or policies that's the problem here," Obama said, citing proposals previously floated by the Senate's Gang of Six and an agreement he had previously reached with House Speaker John Boehner. "It's a lack of political will in Washington. It's the insistence on drawing lines in the sand, a refusal to put what's best for the country ahead of self-interest or party or ideology. And that's what we need to change."

Current Policies is what's killing Capitalism!!!

Wow, he is saying for Politicians to change and do what's best for the country. Doesn't he HEAR AMERICA SAYING THAT'S WHAT HE NEEDs TO DO!!! WHAT HE IS TELLING OTHERS TO DO, IS WHAT AMERICA WANTS HIM TO DO!!!

Obama now says there is an Urgency to cut the DEBT, because of the AAA rating cut? Why not before... why was he asking for a $2.4 Trillion increase but no Plan to reduce the debt.

In case you didn't notice, the failure to pass a balanced budget requirement ...i.e. the 'long term' strategy that was referred to by teh S&P ..... was one of the main sticking points ... and we 'terrorists' were insisting on a balanced budget requirement, if you recall ... or did you conveniently forget that part?

BTW, Harry Reid drafted up the bill that was finally passed .... not republicans.

I'd certainly think, were I in your shoes and trying so furiously to discredit something ... I'd probably have done my research first.

Knowing what it is that's being talked about gives one's words a lot more weight.

Of course, you can always take pride in liberal tactics, such as trying to put unflattering pics on the cover of your liberal rag magazines. Now there's a very patriotic idea!
