Guess you're right ... when you only have a thimble full of gold, you can use a smelter that is used to melt glass. 17 ounce mini-dore bar is about the size of what, a Reese's peanut butter cup.up.

Way back when they first started talking about having their own smelter someone put a picture of just what you are talking about on the board. It was probably 3 feet in diameter and stood maybe 4 feet high. The specs said something like 10-50 lbs. It used electric induction for heat - the same as they do in the huge steel smelters...
