Think you are getting confused with par value.

Assume you have 10,000 shares with pps of .32. If the split record date was right now, you would end up with 100,000 shares each with a pps of .032. Same total value post split as pre split.

And surrendering shares is a misnomer. It should happen without you doing anything. May take a day or so for it to be reflected, however.
