It seems more likely with a story like that. Mid-2006 is around the time that Intel will be ramping quickly dual core chips. I wonder if it will be Yonah or Presler, though. Either way, it will be a good time for Apple to transition. Good job to Intel for the design win. It might be a good time to buy a Mac. :-)
Weird thought of the day... What if Apple goes with Itanium? Take montecito and strip off the L3 cache, shrink it to 65nm and run. They could use the current products for development until that baby is ready to go... --Alan
