Somebody must think the buyout will be in the $72 range. I don't believe IDCC management would accept that. If so, then maybe the watchdog lawfirm is not such a bad idea... keeps the insiders honest.

Poststyle: YES The market is very inefficient when it comes to valuing IDCC

Yup and despite this stock being on everyone's radar screens now due to the recent price run up and NEWS*** it still is and from the ignorance irrationality and inefficiency of the WS I hope to profit BIG!

*** I am just totally appalled by the naysayers who are issuing 'cautionary' notes saying that we have rumors and no news not to mention the other naysayers who I just think don't have a clue.

The ones who say 'no news only rumors' well the BOD announced the strategic alternatives INLCUDING A POSSIBLE SALE that is NEWS and BIG NEWS and if people don;t understand the process triggered by it after it has been explained to them well that is their problem I guess. But that is HUGE FREAKING NEWS and it means that we are in play, they hired Barclays et al and have an obligation to shop the company for the best deal. At some point IDCC won';t have a choice but to be bought friendly 'hostile' or what (I won't consider offers in excess of $250 a share or more very hostile personally).

And it is NEWS when WSJ reports that Google is in talks with IDCC to buy them--they don't quote a name but they have an inside source at Google or IDCC or both and in jouranlism that attribution has meaning and it is NOT A RUMOR!

We don't have a similar confirmation that APPL is in--so far that is rumors although the one firm put out a note on it.

And M Partners note doesn't treat any of this as RUMORS.

And if one followed and understood the Nortel auction and understand its implications and the smartphone telecomputing convergent device market and the war for dominance and survival and the importance of IP and our IP in that space, again I don't know what to say.

What is the downside? If GOogle withdrew from the talks APPL MSFT etc would swoop in.

To me the ONLY reason that we don't get bought at a HUGE premium to where we are now is if we are TOO EXPENSIVE and that would be good for us if Google APPL MSFT and any consortium/partners can't AFFORD to buy IDCC how would that be bad?

Again there are rumors but there IS news. How good the news turns out to be remains to be seen--is it the sky the moon alpha centauri??? But saying it is rumors not news is just uh what's the right word, I don't know unbelievable to me.

There is a LOT of $$$ to be made playing this right--for example call options and if people don';t want to make it, then fine, I'm going to.

Datarox asked if Bull was buying at these prices--I'm buying call options at higher strike prices. No problem DR sold some, everyone has their reasons etc but by doing so my guess is he left money on the table maybe a lot--again his decision I have no basis to criticize and don't know.

But when it comes to DR and his view on the IP though he may have knowledge which he doesn't specify which is superior to everyone including oceantomo and ZTE etc that makes no difference to my analysis of the value of this IP in terms of quantity and perceived quality in the market or how IP is being monetized etc and I do not understand since he will never say what his basis is for questioning the IP as he does or raising questions about it.

To me even if DR had done due dilligence on every patent we have and compared it to every Nortel patent that still only gets one so far--the value of IP will be established by the market such as in the Nortel auction OR it will be established in litigation and until litigation or a sale establishes the price DR doesn't know what is valid enforceable or is infringing because no one really can.

And essential vs non essential vs commercially attractive etc if it is being used it has value--essential limited by whatever FRAND is might be more or less than non essential.

No disrespect to DR but I don't get it and he's too cryptic and non specific for me to follow and I think his points had some validity perhaps at some time but less so in the current environment of IP and IP in this space.

So I see no downside--the only question is how big is the upside.

So I'm buying call options and hope to leverage small amounts of money into HUGE rewards and I think I will.

So everyone should do whatever and consider news rumors if they want but after all this time some who are doing so just confound me--the story is obvious and after Nortel this scenario was predicted (some actually predicted it--others have claimed to lol).

Both these firms aren't anywhere near a major brokerage name. If they were, the stock would have reacted. These small boutique names/blogs usually will not have an impact on a stock price.
