bill, I'm sorry to hear that; that proves my point, however: AT obviously employs inexperienced people. You CAN NOT sell SHORT shares that are IN your account, period. I believe what you're saying, don't deny AT told people that.
BUT as a trader of 9 years, with experience actually SHORTING stocks, I stand by what I'm sharing. And the shares I sold on Wednesday were legitimate shares in my account, available to sell.

Mr. Bill, well said. AT handled this very poorly and had my stomach in knots all week long. I was highly unsatisfied with how they treated their clients. I am considering a brokerage change after the dirt settles.
