#2446 RE: Irena #2444

Donna, just what is a "Donna Stock"?

Hi Irena

I coined the phase "Donna stock" last year as the NASDAQ was re testing it's old highs and getting ready for it's death spiral. While others were still talking on the thread(s) about it being time to buy tech stocks (me included), many having outrageous price earnings multiples like 800 to 1200, Donna focused on quality companies.

She would consistently post a list of stocks that she liked and they always had reasonable "real" price earnings ratios. They were companies that you would not mind taking a position in and then go on vacation for a week or two without a worry.

She has a knack for finding quality stocks that are in break out mode with minimal downside risk. Hence the term, "Donna stock". She is one of the best fundamental analysts that I have ever had the pleasure of conversing with.

Hi Irena, I was laughing out loud first thing this morning when I read the leader into your post! It's become kind of a nickname for low p/e stocks with some potential for growth. (I see that Reid has answered that in a much more flattering way!)

You are very wise to plan on leaving Florida in the summer. The heat and humidity then can be appalling. I still miss New England, though I've been in California for almost 15 years.

Yeah, I've spent a good part of the last two summers in the Florida heat-- and I can tell you, most of it was spent indoors! Yikes! I, too, have been in CA for a while (23 years!), and have never gotten over nostalgic thoughts of New England in the fall. The fall is actually the worst season in San Diego, with those hot, dry Santa Ana winds that come blowing off the Mojave each year. I spent a lot of time in New England (NH and ME) growing up, and I'm looking forward to making it a part of my life again!

re: IRF

I love this stock, and I'm sorry I missed it this time around. It qualifies as a "ds." :8-)

I'll ask Reid to do a chart on it.
