Thanks for sharing your story.

I purposely point out my experiences to demonstrate that people need a long lead time to establish a garden before a possible crisis. The earlier you start, the easier it will be and the later you start, the deeper the hole to crawl out.

Bingo.

Extremely well said. It gives me a sense of pride when I see people take an interest in gardening and self sustainability. Especially the city dwellers.

I live in the country and have a big yard. I'm still expanding my garden each year. The more I learn, the better the garden turns out. The better the garden turns out, the more I like it.

I'm also getting better at organizing the crops and space. Not only for crop rotation, but also for seasonal rotation. I start planting and working the soil as soon as weather permits in the spring and keep it alive with vegetables until winter freezes it over. When the early crops finish out, such as lettuce/radishes/turnips, that space is then used for green beans, sweet corn, mellons, and other warm weather crops.

This year I'm experimenting with cabbage. Trying to keep the plantings staggered enough to allow produce all summer. I know it does well in the fall, so I plant a few more plants every couple of weeks.

I planted lettuce in front of the chicken coop this year, I figured I may as well put a few pole beans in there too.

That space in front of the fence would look better with veggies.....so, I got pole beans planted next to the fence post, in front, there are tomato plants and between the tomato plants is a cabbage plant.

these are my potatoes in straw.

In a God damn Republic the rights of the few are held in as high esteem as the many.
So long as no one has been hurt or THEIR direct rights infringed upon, no other's property directly damaged, if no thing has suffered for it, there is NO corpus delecti. The City Manager can blow smoke up his patootey.

Any man or woman can harbor an opinion, but that doesn't give it force of effect unless a petty tyrant.

No charging instrument, no case! Period.
The municipality of Oak Park is a fiction. It can not testify to harm done. If it can, certify a complaint and force it to the stand. They gonna look pretty damn stupid putting the corporate municipality of Oak Park on the stand.

The law works when properly understood. The corrupt rightfully fear proper comprehension of the law.
