OT - LOL!! Yeppers, I've played that one to death. I believe that the background is the one and only Carlsbad Raceway (or Oceanside, I get them confused) in SoCal, that will soon be defunct, if it isn't already. Rough little track, but a lot of SoCal hot rod history in it.
But the coup de grace was the simulation software sanctioned by NHRA, and the one year of online drag racing events we had in 2001 on NitroSim.com. Heads up nitro and pro stock racing in real time, including tuning and aero adjustments. Software was buggy but it was the only thing available. It was a blast though.
