The New World Order

http://www.unn.ac.uk/societies/islamic/current/neworder.htm

People are prone to prejudice when they are not familiar with the traditions and value system of another group of people. Most of us don't know any of the extreme or observant Moslems. And our bias is being dominated by all the negative media coverage. We do know that in some extreme rural Mideastern areas lawlessness prevails, as does extreme intolerance, human rights is a foreign concept.

I go to BJ's Wholesale Club, W. Long Branch, (so it's not only N. Jersey, brain) and sometimes see women in full burqa, only eyes exposed. I don't know where these people live, but it's a culture that's completely foreign to me. We have our own ideas about Molsem culture, as it relates to women, but it is hard to imagine a culture granting even basic freedoms to people required to be covered from head to toe. The culture is just SO different, and none of us really understand it. Ordinarily you go to a store and smile or make small talk with others in the aisle. When the other is in full burqa, you tend to leave or avoid the aisle. But this is America, and we are supposed to be very tolerant people, "Give us your tired, your poor, etc..... Just don't give us your ladies in burqas?..... One has to wonder.....

Imagine your child dating a child from one of these families?... Would you welcome his or her parents into your home, Mom in her burqa & Dad in his turban - for comfortable entertaining?..... We are racist too. Right or wrong, we have no idea. Remember Equal Rights for All, regardless of Race, Color, or Creed? How does the Burqa fit into American society?..
