That to me is the fundamental question. How can commons get a portion of a settlement when the Preferreds are only in the money to the tune of less than 1%...........Seems to me TPS and the preferreds would not agree to be giving up anything that could increase their portion of a settlement, unless all the settlement for the common shareholders comes directly from the Hedge Funds.

Quote {Ultimately, the reports are that the EC pulled out. But to me, it seems clear, they pulled out because TPS could not be satisfied. }
I agree with you 100 %. I think the other members of the EC went along with MW in wanting the commons to get a taste, but TPS felt they were entitled to FV before the commons got a penny. By law they are right ,and the villians JPM, and FDIC are the real culprits for the settlement talks to reach a standstill.
Some on this board question that maybe JPM was going to chip in some considerations, but IMHO getting those Dogs to do the right thing here is like getting blood out of a stone.
Funny how the party that benifited the most in this deal is so greedy it is almost unbelievable. Sure if things stand the SN will do extreamly well, but no where near what JPM has already gotten.
