I don't think LD-AIM is like 'AIM-Rebal'.

LD-AIM amplifies the Portfolio Control Value in such a manner as to allow for broader diversification constrained only by the number of consecutive transactions (on either the Sell or Buy side).

AIM-Rebal as I understand it, looks at relative values in a an AIM basket and calls for adjustments on a scheduled basis to bring those relative values back in 'balance'.

LD-AIM's keystone concept is that in a traditional AIM program, there is (as Lemonhead stated) a 'core' position purchased that one trades around. This 'core' position cost real $. LD-AIM just doesn't purchase this portion. But it does consider it as 'Virtual', so that one can trade around it in exactly the same manner. Classic AIM, Virtual core position.
